All Church Activities, Including Worship, Suspended

The Session of FPC Tyler met on Friday afternoon, March 13, to discuss options regarding the COVID-19 epidemic and voted unanimously to cancel worship and Sunday school for the next two Sundays (March 15 and 22), and possibly beyond. This decision was not taken lightly, but was made in the best interest of our members and our community. There is still much we do not know about this virus and its effects, but this much we do know: it is highly contagious; infected persons may not know they are infected for days after their first exposure; and people who are elderly or who have serious underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

In addition to canceling worship and Sunday school, all meetings and events are canceled until at least March 27. The Session will re-evaluate the situation by that date and will determine if further cancelations are necessary.

In the meantime, we encourage our members to take the precautions recommended by public health professionals, including limiting contact with others, washing hands with soap and water, avoiding touch one's face, and using hand sanitizer.

Thank you, and please stay healthy!
