The Session oversees and provides support for the following committees:

Committee and Team Descriptions
Budget and Finance
Committee
Plans the process for developing the annual budget and
monitors income, expenses, and cash flow throughout the year.
Building and Grounds
Committee
Oversees the maintenance and upkeep of the buildings and
grounds at the church. Plans for major maintenance.
Personnel Committee
Works with the pastor to maintain the church’s personnel
policies, plan and carry out annual reviews for all employees, and handle
personnel issues that arise from time to time.
Strategic Planning
Committee
Leads the Session and the congregation in developing
strategic plans for the church, and monitors the implementation of those plans.

Christian Education and Nurture
Committee
Develops and oversees plans for the Christian Education and
nurture of the church’s members. The committee is divided into several teams to
work on specific elements within the whole department
Adult Ministries Team
Provides direct oversight of and planning for adult Sunday
School and other education programs for adults in the church
Youth Ministries Team
Provides direct oversight of and planning for youth Sunday
School, Confirmation classes, Sunday night youth fellowships (Prime Time), and
midweek Bible studies for 6th through 12th grade youth in
the church.
Children’s Ministries Team
Provides direct oversight of and planning for children’s
Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and other events for children. Also
oversees the nursery.
LOGOS Ministry Team
Provides direct oversight of and planning for the midweek
children’s education ministry known as LOGOS.
Small Groups Team
Provides direct oversight of and planning for the adult small
group ministry.
Senior Adult Leadership Team
Develops programs of fellowship and education for senior adults (60+) in the church and community.

Fellowship Committee
Organizes opportunities and special events for the congregation
to gather for fellowship. Oversees Sunday morning coffee time, church
luncheons, and special events.
Church Relations
Committee
Seeks new ways to interact with other churches, especially
Presbyterian churches in the East Texas area. Recommends to the Session elders
to serve as commissioners to Presbytery; and recommends elders and members to
Presbytery’s Nominating Committee to serve on committees of Grace Presbytery.
Mission Committee
Oversees all of the church’s outreach ministries and plans
new ways for the congregation to be involved in mission locally, nationally,
and globally. Coordinates with the Diaconate Service Committee.
Worship and Music
Committee
Oversees all of the church’s worship and music ministries,
including Sunday morning and Wednesday evening worship, special services
(baptisms, weddings, and funerals), and major worship events (Lovefeast,
Easter, etc.). Coordinates with the pastor and the music director to recommend
to the Session any changes to worship policies.
Fine Arts Committee
Oversees fund raising for the Fine Arts Series.
